chineasy visual language illustrations by noma bar + shao lan
taiwanese artist shao lan has developed ‘chineasy’, a method which allows a non-chinese readers to learn the written language by
understanding the basic letter-form and meaning in a visual manner. once a few groups of primary cornerstone chinese characters known
as radicals can be recognized, users are then able to combine the symbols and easily learn dozens of additional shapes and expressions.I wonder how well this works once you get past the pictographic characters. In any case these are the prettiest ones I’ve come across

YOU KNOW HOW BABIES GET ALL QUIET AND CALM WHEN THEY SEE A MOBILE
SO APPARENTLY THEY DO THIS BECAUSE THE MOBILE RESEMBLES BIRDS OF PREY FLYING OVERHEAD THAT COULD POTENTIALLY CARRY THEM OFF
IT’S A EVOLUTIONARY PRECEDENT SO THAT IF THE BABY STAYS STILL THE BIRD WON’T NOTICE AND EAT IT
BABIES DON’T LIKE MOBILES
THEY’RE FUCKING TERRIFIED
I am more than a bit disturbed by how hard I laughed at this.
Holy shit. Someone buy me this for my birthday, please!
I WANT THE STEGOSAURUS ONES PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
i want all the ones
